I've been doing some research for College and i was working on research for Tekken, so i was on Christie Monteiro's page on Tekkenpedia because A. I couldn't spell her last name and B. I couldn't spell Capoeira. Anyways, i looked at the trivia and saw something about the Tekken Maxim Photoshoot. And so i clicked it.
www.tekkenpedia.com/wiki/Tekke…Looking at the article, it seems as if these were taken around the time of Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection , which would explain the inclusion of Lili.
Where do i start with this.
1. The idea of a Maxim photoshoot of Tekken characters is just..........i don't know. Weird i guess.
2. The models playing the characters hilariously (in my own opinion) don't really look like the characters, the only one really that i could say does, is the woman playing Lili. But the Ling Xiaoyu model isn't even Asian and is way to old and the Christe Monteiro just looks all wrong.
Lets address each of the models, Starting with Lili.
The Lili model actually looks fairly accurate, the hair is done pretty well and the outfit is very accurate, which, as a fan of the series, i myself appreciate very much. I really don't have much to say about the Lili model, she's fairly accurate, the only part i'd say was that she needs a little more make up on the eyes, since Lili tends to wear more makeup around there, but that's really minor as a complaint.
Before moving on i'd like to point something out. At the time of Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection. The characters had set ages. Ling Xiaoyu was 18 and Christie Monteiro was 19. However Lili is only 16 years of age. Mature for her age, but still. I know that the models playing the character are probably in their mid-to-late 20's, but well, you see my point? Lili is 16 and yet she's shown in a pin-up manor, nude. Granted it is a model, but i'm just saying. Fan Art of Lili can be let slipped, since well, it's fan art, but this was a proffessional model shoot.
Afterways, moving on.
Something i'd also like to point out is that they chose to use Lili's main costume but Ling and Christie's Alternate outfits, which to me is strange.
Now, talking about Christie, no offence to the model who played her but, well, around her chest region, she seems well, bony, like i can see her ribs bony, which is not what Christie Look's like, also her breasts look fake, just saying. Also she doesn't look remotely like Christie, i mean the Lili one looks a lot like her, which is impressive, but the Christie one, and the Ling one don't.
Finally lets address Ling. The model playing Ling for one doesn't seem to be asian, but at least they got the costume right, the alternate costume.
Most of my complaints about this are aimed at the models who played Christie and Ling but i guess it's simply a matter of opinion.
I'd like to here thoughts on this topic.
Now i scuttle back under my rock, as i realised i've wasted time forming a journal around arguing against a collection of pin-ups.
